Dating Directions owners were asked by Novak to help find dates for the Cincinnati woman. Parker, a dating-company client for a year, wanted to assist his matchmaker friends and, of course, appear on Oprah. "I felt pretty important, like a movie star," said Parker, a senior aircraft mechanic for FedEx. "Everyone in the restaurant was looking. There were all the lights and cameras around.
